Dr Kudzai Mpofu
Dr Kudzai Mpofu is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at Walter Sisulu University, South Africa, with professional expertise as a business rescue consultant. He holds a PhD in Mercantile Law and teaches Insolvency Law, Company Law, and Banking Law. His research focuses on cross-border insolvency, business rescue, and corporate restructuring, with particular attention to legal developments in the Global South. Dr Mpofu has approximately seven years of professional experience in legal and academic roles, including serving as a consultant, court clerk, and research assistant. He is a member of the International Insolvency Institute’s NextGen Programme and, in 2026, was selected to participate in the INSOL International Future Leaders Programme. He is currently a Visiting Researcher at the University of Glasgow School of Law, where his research examines the development of a cross-border insolvency protocol for the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
