People's Justice Volunteer Network: The Pilot
In 2026, GO Justice piloted an exciting new initiative through the Centre for People’s Justice, supporting students working on the University of Liverpool’s Nuclear Justice Project - Merlin Files. Led by the Historian Dr Jonathan Hogg, the project brought together students from a wide range of disciplines to explore a complex access to justice issue through a collaborative, real-world lens.
Students were supported by GO Justice through the newly established Centre for People’s Justice Volunteer Network. The network encourages students to reflect on their experiences, develop their employability skills, and confidently articulate the knowledge and competencies they gain through their involvement in the projects across the Centre.
Next steps for the network
Building on the success of this pilot, we hope to expand the programme next year across all seven Centre institutions, creating opportunities for students involved in different projects to connect with one another.
The network will provide a platform to share ideas, showcase best practice, foster collaboration, and explore future opportunities within the social justice and human rights sector.
