The School of Infection & Immunity is delighted to announce a landmark moment in the calendar: our inaugural Research Symposium, taking place this summer.
This will be the school’s showcase event of the year; an inspiring, full-day celebration of research excellence, innovation, and collaboration across our community.
An exciting line-up of international keynote speakers has now been confirmed, and we’re delighted to welcome four leading researchers from across Europe and North America to the James McCune Smith Building on Monday, 8 June 2026:
- Professor Jost Enninga (Institut Pasteur)
- Professor Kathy McCoy (University of Calgary)
- Professor Stephan Günther (Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine)
- Professor Friedrich Frischknecht (Heidelberg University Hospital)
Their keynote talks will headline a full-day programme bringing together staff and PhD students from across the school and wider College of MVLS community.
The event will also feature poster sessions, sponsor exhibits, a complimentary lunch, and a drinks reception, creating a relaxed environment to spark new ideas and foster interdisciplinary partnerships.
This is the first event of its kind for the school, and we are excited to build a tradition that showcases the breadth and impact of our research.
Registration
Open to School of Infection & Immunity staff and PGR students as well as College of MVLS staff and PGR students, anyone who wishes to attend is strongly encouraged to register via the Eventbrite page that has been shared via Sii internal communications.
