Title: Tracking Fibrosis activity in Crohn's disease

Bio: Rahul Kalla graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2005 and undertook his Gastroenterology training in Manchester and a PhD in Edinburgh(2013-2016)  . He is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at NHS Lothian (Edinburgh) and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, supported by an MRC and the Scottish CSO research fellowships.  He has a specialist interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and his research focuses on translational science in IBD, in particular risk stratifying individuals at diagnosis using novel molecular profiling and imaging techniques and developing pro-resolution and anti-fibrotic drug targets with minimal side effects that can be utilised in the clinic. He currently leads a research programme investigating the pathogenesis and evolution of intestinal fibrosis in Crohn's disease.
