We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Mike Barrett as Deputy Head of School of Infection and Immunity, with effect from 1 July 2023.

Professor Barrett has enjoyed an extensive, 27-year career at the University of Glasgow, with his research programme pioneering parasite metabolomics and successful search for novel anti-trypansomatid drugs.

Mike has also provided great leadership in his role in the creation of Glasgow Polyomics, as Director of SULSA, and his pivotal role in the establishment of the Lighthouse Laboratory in parasitology.

Head of School Professor Andy Waters said: "Mike will bring a wealth of experience and strategic insight to the role from which we will all benefit.
