Biography

Claudia is a senior lecturer in Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment at the University of Glasgow. She holds a degree in Economics (2004) from The University of Potsdam, Germany and a PhD in Health Economics (2012) from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to joining HEHTA in 2008, she has worked as a research assistant at HERU, University of Aberdeen.

Research interests

Claudia’s research interests are in the area of data science and the use of real-world evidence in HTA. Her research focuses on analysing routinely collected health data to answer research questions of socio-economic and geographical patterning of healthcare utilisation and related expenditure. Her PhD and post-doctoral fellowship analysed the association between remaining life time and healthcare expenditure. She has also been involved in a large number of projects evaluating the impact of public health interventions. Claudia’s research interests are both, methodological and applied. Claudia is Co-Lead of the MSc in HTA and the academic lead for ‘Data Science – Identifying, combining and analysing health datasets’. She supervises PhD, MSc and MPH students at the University of Glasgow
