In February 2019, IHW and Public Health's Jana Anderson took part in STEM in the Gorbals public outreach event, engaging with children and parents about the links between lifestyle factors and health
On 27th February 2019, Jana Anderson took part in STEM in the Gorbals public outreach event.
The event was based at Blackfriars Primary school. Jana engaged with children from the primary school and the community and their parents, to explain in a fun and entertaining way how diet and other lifestyle factors affect our health.
Jana guided them through information displayed on nutritional labels of healthy and unhealthy snacks and the children assessed which snack is a better choice. For primary P1-P3 children, she had toy foods to create a healthy plate.
