The Publics Public Health Photovoice Exhibition

Published: 28 August 2023

An exhibition within our Byres Community Hub in the Clarice Pears Building. Available to view until December 1st.

‘The Public’s Public Health’ was a community engagement project using photovoice to explore the question 'What does public health mean to you?' This project was designed to bring different perspectives on public health into our 100 years of public health opening exhibition and to build links with further community groups in different geographical areas in the city.

Photovoice is a way of people sharing their thoughts, ideas or stories in a visual way for positive social impact.

This project was in partnership with four organisations in Glasgow who represent underserved communities and are working to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities in Glasgow: Active Life Club; Govan Community Project; Outdoors for you and The Milton Ratters. Members from each of the organisations were invited to join us in this project between April – June 2023.

Each group took photos around the community to show what Public Health meant to them. They chose captions for their photos and now we hold a display in our Byres Community Hub space in our Clarice Pears Building.

Come in and take a look at the photos from the groups!
