More than ‘just PMS’

Glasgow Girls Club opens doors to opportunities and pathways for girls and young women facing barriers, so they can build brighter futures for themselves and their communities by co-designing projects and campaigns alongside architects, planners, and civic partners - shaping safer, fairer cities and influencing the decisions that matter.

As a social enterprise, they also develop media and digital tools that amplify voices, spark collaboration, and create employability opportunities for young women.

Dikshyanta Rana has received the Dr Mistry Fund Award for her research project, ‘Towards a Community-Informed Understanding of the Economic Burden of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) in the UK’.

PMDD is a severe, hormone-based mood disorder affecting 1 in 20 women and people who menstruate - an estimated 1 million people in the UK - of whom one in three attempt suicide and more than half self-harm.

More than "just PMS" was created by Glasgow Girls Club. The exhibition brings together art and statistics to raise awareness of PMDD.

At Hub Monday on 16th November, join Glasgow Girls Club and Diksyhanta as they discuss their work.
