Making Friends with Finance - Social Enterprise Accountancy Scotland CIC

Tuesday 15 September, registration and refreshments 1:30pm-2pm, workshop 2-4pm

Byres Community Hub supported by The Pears Foundation is hosting a free workshop with Social Enterprise Accountancy Scotland CIC.

As a social business, you may need to prepare financial projections for funders and produce budgets for Trustee/Board approval, which will need to be monitored regularly against actual figures. Having enough cash can be the difference between survival and failure, so understanding how to manage your cashflow is key to being successful.

This session is designed to unpack the world of finance. It will help you to understand the benefits of making friends with finance (and your numbers) and assist you with the practical steps to do this. By the end of the session, you will have:

  • Increased your confidence and understanding of how to pull together your financial projections and what they are telling you about your business as well as what accounting records you need to maintain.
  • Knowledge of different types of financial information, what constitutes sound financial procedures and the benefits they can provide you and your business.
  • Shared experiences and gaining practical hints and tips to help avoid common pitfalls.

Please register on Eventbrite. Places are limited so please register a maximum of 2 people per organisation.
