We are going to have a SP&E seminar on "Deep Geothermal Development at the Ngatamariki Geothermal Field, New Zealand" on Tuesday, 6th May, given by Ms Catherine Coutts, who is currently a Project Engineer at Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Renewable Energy.

Abstract

This talk will introduce geothermal development and the geologic setting in New Zealand, and gives an overview of the 82 MW Ngatamariki Geothermal Power Project, from exploration through to plant commissioning.

Biography

Ms Catherine Coutts studied geology at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, graduating with a Post Graduate Diploma in Science at the end of 2008. She then worked for Mighty River Power Ltd, one of New Zealand’s largest electricity generation companies, in the Geothermal Technical Resources Group before moving to the UK in late 2013 and joining Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Renewable Energy Team. With PB she is pursuing deep geothermal work in East Africa, UK and Europe.
