The International Association for Community Development (IACD), in partnership with the University of Glasgow, has announced that registration is now open for the World Community Development Conference (WCDC) 2026, which will take place in Glasgow from 29 June to 2 July 2026.

This year’s theme, “Community Development in a Chaotic World: Challenge, Change and Collective Action,” reflects the urgent challenges facing societies worldwide, from political instability and social fragmentation to economic inequality and environmental crises. The conference aims to provide a platform for practitioners, policymakers, academics, and activists to share knowledge, exchange practice, and explore collective responses.

The call for abstracts is now open, with organisers inviting proposals for papers, workshops, lightning talks, poster presentations, and other creative contributions. Submissions close on 3 November 2025.
