Launch event for 'Tears of Gold' from Hannah Rose Thomas held in London on International Women's Day

Artist and UNESCO RILA PhD candidate Hannah Rose Thomas launched her new book 'Tears of Gold' at an event in London, held to coincide with International Women's Day on March 8.

Hannah has travelled to some of the most violent places on earth to meet women affected by war.  She led trauma-healing art workshops but also painted stunning portraits of the women, helping to tell their stories and restore their dignity.

The book features portrait paintings of Yezidi women who escaped ISIS captivity, Rohingya women who fled violence in Myanmar, and Nigerian women who survived Boko Haram violence, as well as portraits and stories of Afghan, Ukrainian, Uyghur, and Palestinian women.
