Dental Netball defeat Development Squad

The Dental Netball team has defeated the Glasgow University Development Squad in their first match in the new Stephenson Building.

Glasgow Dental School Netball Team

Friday the 20th of November saw the Dental netball girls take on Glasgow University Development Squad. With the new Stephenson building extension recently opening, it was a great opportunity to play in such a great facility. Having not played since BDSA in Leeds at the start of October, the girls were slightly apprehensive at the prospect of playing a full match. However, this was short lived and nerves were soon settled as soon as they took to the court. The first half saw some great passages of play, both in defence and attack. Rebounds were being caught at both ends of the court, and the centre court play flowed with ease. Half time oranges were served in true primary school netball style, courtesy of our very own Megan McCann, and after the break some “fresh legs” were put on and the girls continued to play a stormer. The University Development Squad girls really gave it their all, but the winners at the full time whistle were the Dental netball girls, with a score of 30-20. A fantastic result for the girls and a great testament to the up and coming sports ethos developing in Glasgow Dental Hospital and School.
