How to Become a Member of GLACSIL

The School of Computing Science has close ties with many organisations for different purposes.  For example, we:

- collaborate with industrial partners in our research projects

- consult with our Industry Advisory Board on our research, course content, and commercial opportunities

- engage with employers through our Graduate Apprenticeship programme, and on recruitment of our graduates

- provide highly specialist consultancy services to organisations in need of our research expertise

- advise, support, and engage with businesses via the Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme.

If you would like to explore any of these options, please contact compsci-innovation@glasgow.ac.uk.

However, GLACSIL members are research-active and research-led organisations that are committed to technological innovation, and the development of highly skilled research professionals through doctoral training and research.  Our members are those who invest in and work in partnership with us on our research directly through funding PhD studentships in the School.

Companies that work with us in this way supervise one or more research projects that have been defined by and for their business that are also suitable for doctoral study and the production of a thesis that earns the student their PhD. Many of our PhD students funded by industrial partners take up positions within those businesses after completing their studies.

Investing in studentships is a cost-effective way for innovative companies to innovate, exploit the School's expertise, and maintain a skills pipeline. Now investing in PhD studentships also comes with the benefits of GLACSIL membership.
