Philip Schlesinger gave evidence to the Scottish Parliament’s Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Relations Committee on 8 February. The future governance and strategy of the new Screen Unit proposed by Creative Scotland was at the heart of discussion. Philip’s evidence focused on the need to have forward-looking research and intelligence (not just data-gathering) and to address the rapid changes that are presently transforming delivery systems and consumption, raising major questions about the future of public service media and the stability of present arrangements.
