Philip Schlesinger gave the first keynote lecture to the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities' 2016 Summer School. He spoke about 'Academics and the policy process', reflecting on both his research and public engagement. He was followed by Ian Small, Head of Public Policy and Corporate Affairs at BBC Scotland, who discussed the current state of the BBC and the implications of the recent White Paper. The two then engaged in a debate on challenges to public service broadcasting.
