Philip Schlesinger was the opening speaker at the Scottish Graduate School for the Arts and Humanities' first conference on academic research and policy, held at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh on 19 November. Philip discussed the nature of public policy and how to recognise and use the policy relevance of particular projects for non-academic purposes. He drew on research undertaken for CCPR's recent studies of the UK Film Council and Cultural Enterprise office and discussed his longstanding experience of working with Ofcom.
