Professor Helge Rønning of Oslo University and Mads Nygaard, CEO of Aschehoug publishers, presented their reflections on the state of publishing in Norway, drawing special attention to the national system that protects authors' rights, standardises contracts, and ensures wide distribution of published works around the whole country.

Of special importance too in keeping the system going is the fixed book price system. The seminar, organised by CCPR in collaboration with CREATe, was attended by key figures from the Scottish publishing and policy institutions along with academic experts in the field.
