Philip Schlesinger and Gillian Doyle organised a CCPR seminar on Media Plurality in Scotland on March 5th in conjunction with Professor Steve Barnett from the University of Westminster and as part of an AHRC-funded project. Professor Barnett is leading on media power and pluralism in the UK and related policy questions. The event, which was well attended by senior figures from the Scottish media industry and policy-makers, enabled a productive exchange about plurality in the press and broadcasting industries in Scotland, initiatives to promote media diversity and new policy ideas.
