The future of the Scottish press will be discussed on 14 October at the Centre for Cultural Policy Research. Academic experts from The Basque Country, Catalonia, Denmark, Norway and Quebec will discuss the challenges posed to small-nation press systems by the digital revolution.  Scotland's press, in the run-up to the independence referendum, will be the central focus.  Media figures, commentators, advisers and civil servants will attend this closed seminar – now at capacity - along with academics from Glasgow and other universities. The workshop, intended to inform the policy process and public debate, is funded by The Royal Society of Edinburgh and organised by Dr Alex Benchimol and Professor Philip Schlesinger.
