The Centre for Cultural Policy Research (CCPR) is hosting a symposium to discuss the AHRC-funded project Public Understanding of Business: Television, Representation and Entrepreneurship on Thursday 16 June 2011.

The Centre for Cultural Policy Research (CCPR) is hosting a symposium to discuss the AHRC-funded project Public Understanding of Business: Television, Representation and Entrepreneurship on Thursday 16 June 2011.

The symposium is a forum to disseminate and discuss the findings of the above project, which has been led by Professor Raymond Boyle (Principal Investigator) and Dr Lisa Kelly (Research Assistant). The research investigates the role popular factual television plays in fostering and shaping patterns of knowledge and levels of understanding about business and entrepreneurship in contemporary British society.

A ttendees include members of the academic community (Newcastle University, University of Leeds, Lund University), representatives of the television industry (independent producers, Channel 4) and enterprise policy makers (Department for Business, Innovation and Skills).

A book from the project The Television Entrepreneurs will be published by Ashgate next year.
