Dr Jack Beazer

Biography
Dr Jack Beazer is a Research Associate within the Glasgow Biomarker Research Unit at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on lipoprotein metabolism, biomarker discovery, and the application of -omics technologies to better understand and predict cardiometabolic and neurological diseases.
Jack completed his BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology and Physiology at the Medway School of Pharmacy, Universities of Kent and Greenwich. Jack then completed his MRes Translational Medicine and PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Glasgow, supported by a British Heart Foundation (BHF) four-year studentship. His doctoral research explored the composition and function of high-density lipoproteins (HDL) in insulin-resistant states, with a particular focus on vascular health and metabolic dysfunction. Jack is actively involved in science communication and public engagement. He regularly participates in outreach events, including school visits and science fairs, to promote STEM education and research careers.

Teaching
Jack contributes to the teaching and marking of the MSc module MED5539 - Clinical and Research Laboratory Skills, led by Prof Paul Welsh. Previously Jack was a Tutor for the MSc in Medical Genetics and Genomics, School of Medicine Denistry and Nursing. He also contributes to the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate project students in the laboratory.
