BHF PhD student Kyle Shead has been shortlisted
Kyle Shead, a 2nd year BHF PhD student working with Godfrey Smith, Ninian Lang and Rachel Myles, has been shortlisted for the BHF Reflections of Research Image Competition with an immunofluorescence image titled “Clinging On to Life.”
The image shows the edge of a monolayer of hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, stained for cardiac troponin and DAPI, revealing how the cells anchor themselves to the glass dish.
The competition celebrates the intersection of science and art, highlighting the beauty found in cardiovascular research.
We wish Kyle all the best in the competition.
