Rebecca and Michael were jointly awarded the Young Investigator Award during the British Heart Rhythm Society Sessions held recently at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. Presenting at this conference provided a fantastic opportunity to share their research with cardiac electrophysiologists and to receive some feedback. Rebecca’s presentation was titled “Spatial heterogeneity of ventricular epicardial APD under baseline and long QT conditions: mechanisms and implications”, and Mike presented his work on “Integrated optical mapping and ex vivo MRI to study ventricular tachycardia substrates post-myocardial infarction in the rabbit heart”. Both feel very honoured to have received this award, especially given the high quality of the other presentations during their session, and would like to thank their PhD supervisors and other members of the institute for their continued guidance and support.
