Dr Vladimir Sobota
- Lecturer in Strategy (Management)
Biography
Dr. Vladimir Sobota is a Lecturer in Strategy at the Adam Smith Business School.
Vladimir’s research interests lie in management and strategy of technological innovations, with a particular focus on platforms and ecosystems. Vladimir currently investigates how positioning strategies of the platform organisation align or disperse participants in the ecosystem. Vladimir also studies platforms that are used to orchestrate efforts to address societal problems such as grand challenges, and how such a societal problem-orientation affects platform strategy and design. Beyond his core focus on platform ecosystems, Vladimir has explored mission-oriented innovation policy and labor economics.
Vladimir’s research has been published in Industrial and Corporate Change, Technovation, Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management, and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. Vladimir is a co-chair of the mini-track ‘Managing Platforms and Ecosystems’ at the Hawaiian International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS).
Previously, Vladimir served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Delft University of Technology, where he also earned his PhD. He holds a background in and Management of Technology (M.Sc.) and Maritime Engineering (B.Eng.).
