Biography
Lauren joined the Adam Smith Business School in 2024 as a lecturer in Entrepreneurship. She is an engaged scholar, who is passionate about working collaboratively with industry and policy actors both in her research and teaching. She has experience leading courses across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes specialising in experiential learning and social enterprise topics.
She is a co-investigator on the UKRI funded Innovation & Research Caucus (£7mil) which aims to embed academic insight into the Research & Innovation Ecosystem. Before joining the University of Glasgow, Lauren was a senior lecturer at Oxford Brookes University and a co-investigator on the Innovation Caucus. Her current research interests are centred around sustainability, predominantly through innovation and economic policy, small businesses, social investment and social enterprises. Her work has been published in journals such as Environmental Science and Policy, Nonprofit & Voluntary Sector Quarterly and Journal of Social Policy.
Lauren also worked as a research associate at the University of Sheffield on projects related to sustainable innovation policy. She completed her PhD on Open Social Innovation in the Scottish Third Sector at Glasgow Caledonian University. Prior to joining academia, Lauren worked with social enterprises in Scotland as a researcher.

Supervision
Lauren is interested in supervising postgraduate research students in the areas of her expertise, namely social entrepreneurship and community business, social innovation, the sustainability of innovation and econonic policy and small business sustainability.
