Dr Aleksandra Bavdaz

Biography

Aleksandra is a dedicated academic with over 6 years experience of in facilitating learning and teaching in the specialist areas of Entrepreneurship and Marketing at Adam Smith Business School. She enjoys working with students and colleagues from various backgrounds and delivers excellent online/offline student learning experiences through a team-based learning approach that feeds from her wide-ranging involvement in the industry.

Her most recent industry role is as a Senior Account Manager in a US-based digital agency, where Aleksandra was responsible for the strategy and management of Amazon advertising of Top-Rank Established Brands in the Tech and Gaming industry and for the line management of several internal and external local and global teams. Her industry network, therefore, spans globally and her other roles in the industry so far have been Marketing Manager, Marketing Consultant and Marketing Executive for local and global brands.

While in her role as a lecturer at the Adam Smith Business School, where she leads and teaches courses across marketing and entrepreneurship with the aim to deploy the most engaging and interactive teaching approaches to meet the learning objectives and goals.

Aleksandra is currently the leader of a research project Authentic Leadership ("Leader-Follower relationship Uncovered - Authentic Workplace), where she collaborates with several prospective academics to study how current entrepreneurs apply authentic approaches to their leadership across various prospective start-ups of various sizes and from various industries.

Aleksandra's background is in Accounting and Finance, in which she completed her bachelor's and Master's degree, her PhD research is in digital marketing, specifically in Google advertising search technology use and functioning in a business environment. Aleksandra is a member of marketing professional bodies AOM and AMA, where she has been peer-reviewing academic papers for top journal publishing.

Research interests

Aleksandra is a member of the School's Entrepreneurship, Development and Political Economy research cluster.
