School team's virtual triumph

Competing virtually, a group of four Business School students won third place in the Universities Business Challenge Worldwide event.
Competing virtually, a group of four Business School students won third place in the Universities Business Challenge (UBC) United Kingdom Undergraduate Challenge.
Year 2 students Sara Cullinane, Constantin Freiherr von Stackelberg, Spyridon Maris and Egli Metaxa worked together remotely to gain a top three placing against more than 200 teams who have been competing since October.
The event was due to take place in London, but due to travel restrictions the competition finals took place virtually.
This is the second time in two years a team from the Adam Smith Business School has made the competition final. In 2019 the School won, bringing the accolade to Scotland for the first time in the competition’s history.
The UBC United Kingdom Undergraduate Challenge runs from October to March and the teams taking part competitively run a series of realistic, simulated businesses.
The event enables students to develop employability and enterprise skills, build their profile, network and meet leading graduate employers.
