Our Partners

The Centre International de Recherche Developpement sur L'Elevage en Zone Sub-humids (CIRDES) is located in Burkina Faso and is one of our key partners on research into trypanosomiasis

The Institut National de Recherche Biomedicale (INRB) is located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is one of our key partners for our research into trypanosomiasis.

KCMC

The Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) is one of our key medical partners and is located in Moshi, Tanzania. We have worked with KCMC for many years, and are currently collaborating on projects to identify key risk f‌actors for several zoonotic diseases

The Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI) is a division of the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, and coordinates all clinical research activities at KCMC. We work with KCRI on several projects focussed on pathogens and human disease risk factors.

Makerere University

Makerere University is located in Uganda and is one of our major partners in our research programs into trypanosomiasis. Formed in 1922 and now one of Africa's premier universities, Makerere offers day, evening and external study programmes to a student body of about 35,000 undergraduates and 3,000 postgraduates.

The Tanzania Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development (MoLFD) is one of our government partners. We work together to deliver the best possible evidence to inform policy decisions. We are collaborating on projects investigating risk factors associated with zoonotic disease transmission from livestock to people.

NM-AIST

The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha, Tanzania is an emerging center of excellence geared to develop new and relevant innovations and implement programs necessary for improving the lives of millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Among the NM-AIST’s priority research areas is the improvement of the health and productivity of livestock.

TAWIRI

TAWIRI coordinates and conducts all wildlife research in Tanzania. The Institute works with TAWIRI on several research projects, in some cases providing support and in others leading joint research activities.

The Sokoine University of Agriculture is one of our key Tanzanian partners and works with us on a variety of research programmes that focus on wildlife health, zoonotic disease, and veterinary epidemiology.
