Refugee Festival Scotland
Monday 14 – Sunday 20 June 2021
Refugee Festival Scotland celebrates the contribution refugee communities make to life in Scotland – the food and drink, music and poetry, dance, visual art and ideas that people bring with them when they seek safety in Scotland.
The festival invites people from different backgrounds to meet and mix, to sample a little of each other’s cultures, listen to each other’s stories and get to know each other better.
This year, we’ll have to do all this online. It will be different, but it will still be worth it!
How can I get involved?
Anyone can get involved. Do you have an idea for an event or activity for this year’s festival? This could take any form – an exhibition, a piece of theatre, dance, a workshop – so long as people can access it online. The opportunities are endless but SRC are seeking events that help overcome barriers and divides and that have the power to inspire and uplift us all after this difficult year.
Are you a community group led by refugees or supporting refugees in Scotland? SRC are always looking for events and activities that celebrate and raise awareness about Scotland’s many communities and strengthen connections and partnerships between people from different backgrounds.
Events or activities must be open (online) to the public.
