Douglas Morrison
Douglas' research is focussed on the role of the gut in both over-nutrition and under-nutrition. In obesity, his research focuses on the function of the gut microbiome and its role in metabolic health, immune health and aging. In under-nutrition, his research focusses on developing new tools to assess gut function in early life to understand how the gut and the microbiome influence growth and developmental outcomes in children. Underpinning his research are stable isotopes where his team continue to innovate, exploiting isotope technologies to investigate complex problems in complex biological systems.
