Published: 11 February 2026
Join us for a roundtable discussion on getting fish back into Scottish diets, and why seafood is key for a nutritious food system that supports the UK's net zero carbon targets.

Time and date: Wednesday 4th March 2026, 16:00-18:00
Location: University of Stirling
Join us for a roundtable discussion on getting fish back into Scottish diets, and why seafood is key for a nutritious food system that supports the UK's net zero carbon targets.
Frequently sidelined from mainstream food and nutrition debates, the recently launched Good Food Nation Plan puts seafood back on Scottish tables. However, changes in food fashion, public procurement, and public knowledge are needed to make this food category a larger part of people’s diets, particularly those with low incomes.
This roundtable sets out to present the main issues and discuss a way forward.
The event is for anyone working in the health and nutrition sector, food production and processing, the hospitality sector, public-sector food procurement, at the interface of food and environment, or concerned with improving the broader food system. It is also open to members of the public and media representatives.
