Open to all SCAF members actively working on professional pieces of writing, including SCAF-related writing projects as well as manuscripts, grant proposals, or fellowship applications.
Scottish Alliance for Food Writing Retreat
The fourth SCAF residential writing retreat will take place from 9th-12th March 2026 at the Loch Insh Outdoor Centre.
The retreat is open to all SCAF members who are actively working on professional pieces of writing. This includes SCAF-related writing projects, as well as manuscripts, grant proposals, fellowship applications or other writing you would like to move forward in a dedicated environment designed to support meaningful progress. While we welcome a wide range of writing, those working on SCAF-related writing projects will be prioritised.
What's included?
- 3 nights' accommodation in shared lodges with 3 to 5 beds (single and twin rooms)
- Full board (vegetarian and vegan catering)
- Transport within Scotland (details to be confirmed). We expect to offer rail and/or minibus travel, with pick up and drop off points between Glasgow and Loch Insh depending on demand.
