Peter MacMahon is a writer, broadcaster and commentator on Scottish and UK politics. He stepped down recently after more than a decade as Political Editor at ITV Border where he presented the channel's Holyrood-based flagship politics programme, Representing Border. In that time he reported on every aspect of public policy, from education to local government; from the health service to economic development; from the constitution to land reform - interviewing and challenging ministers and opposition politicians alike on the impact of their policy proposals.
A former deputy editor, business editor and Scottish government editor of The Scotsman, Peter has always taken a keen interest in public policy and the debates over public service reform.
“At a time when our politicians and public servants face huge challenges shaping the services of the future, the independent, objective research provided by Glasgow University's Centre for Public Policy has never been more important.
“I am delighted to join the Advisory Board and contribute what I can to the vital work the Centre does in speaking truth to power while constructively contributing to public policy debates. Respectful discourse on public policy matters, because public policy impacts everyone in Scotland.”
