Are you a PhD student with an interest in devolution, Scottish politics, elections?
The Centre for Public Policy has an exciting opportunity for a Scottish Graduate School of Social Science PhD student to join our 'Election Team' next year on an Academic Placement, as a Research Assistant.
The student will work closely with the Centre for Public Policy directorate and dedicated election team to inform debate and raise the profile of academic expertise and analysis.
What to expect:
- Conduct analysis of party manifestos and fact-check claims made in campaign speeches and debates
- Write succinct analytical summaries, blogs, briefing notes for the Centre's digital channels
- Support the design and delivery of webinars
- Research assistance for the UofG Spotlight podcast
This is a fantastic opportunity for the resarcher to raise their profile in their area of expertise and connect with other researchers when drawing on a broader knowledge base.
They will also have the opportunity to work with our dedicated professional services team, including specialists in communications and policy engagement, to design and deliver a range of engagement activities and digital content.

The Academic Placement is part of the ‘Research in Practice’ element of the ESRC SGSSS studentship.
