Festival of Words - Open Evening

The Lecture ('Magyars and Makars: Hungarian Poetry in Scots, Scottish poetry in Hungarian') and Open Night will take place from 5pm on Monday, December 10th 2007
The Open Evening, which is part of the autumn's 'Festival of Words' organised by the CRCEES and the Slavonic Studies Section of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures provides an opportunity for guests from the University and the local business community to attend a lecture by a Hungarian specialist and a wine reception to celebrate the linguistic achievements of CRCEES and DSLL.

The Lecture and Open Night will take place from 5pm on Monday, December 10th 2007, to mark the end of a successful year of CRCEES events and the close of the first phase of the Festival of Words. The event begins with the final lecture in the Festival of Words series, which will take place in Lecture Theatre B, Boyd Orr Building at the University of Glasgow.
Professor Tom Hubbard, Visiting Professor in Scottish Literature and Culture, ELTE, Budapest (2006) and Dr Zsuzsanna Varga Research Fellow at De Montfort University will give readings from the acclaimed literary work 'Magyars and Makars: Hungarian Poetry in Scots, Scottish poetry in Hungarian'.
