University of Glasgow

Your first term in EDUMaH is at the University of Glasgow and will lay a strong foundation for your program. You'll explore the evolution and educational roles of museums, understanding their significance in social, cultural, racial, and political contexts. The focus on access and inclusion will highlight real-world examples of making museums accessible and inclusive for diverse audiences. You'll also learn how museums can enrich our understanding of societies and cultures through effective educational experiences. Additionally, you'll develop research skills, preparing for your dissertation by exploring research methods and potential topics. This comprehensive approach ensures you're well-prepared for the rest of your studies and future career in the field.

Standard Visitor Visa

For those who require a visa, for a single semester of study at the University of Glasgow (Semester 1) you should apply for a Standard Visitor Visa. This is valid for up to six months and suitable for one semester in Glasgow. Stdents will receive a Standard Visitor Letter from the University of Glasgow before you start the Semester. Please note that this visa is only valid for one semester. If you need to return to the UK later in the programme (e.g. for Semester 4), you must apply for another visa. Please note that you will not be eligible to apply for the UK Graduate Visa after your studies with a Standard Visitor Visa.

For those who do not require a visa to study in Glasgow, you may be able to enter as a Standard Visitor. From 2025, students will require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to travel to the UK. More information on ETAs can be found here.
