Research title: The Historical and Ideological Evolution of Cultural Diversity Shaped by UK Charities After World War II
Research Summary
Overall research interests
My research focuses on the historical evolution of how cultural diversity has been understood and engaged with in postwar Britain, particularly through the lens of social psychology.
PhD research
My PhD project examines how student-focused charities shaped interactions between international (formerly ‘overseas’) students and local communities from the postwar period onward. It traces the ideological and practical development of these charities’ work with international students, revealing how their perceptions of different cultural groups shifted over time.
