Research title: Improved Ground Stiffness Measurements for Offshore Wind Turbine Foundation Design

Research Summary

Luke's primary research interests are in the development and advancement of technologies to support decarbonisation of energy infrastructure, focussing on the UK offshore wind sector.

Current Research

  • Undertaking PhD research within the framework of SOURCE, (Improved insitu Stiffness measurements for Offshore foundation design considering Uncertainty, Repeatability and Common sources of Error) under the supervision of PI Dr. Róisín Buckley.
  • Improvements in advanced laboratory measurements of small-strain stiffness of soils; quantifying influence of calibration procedures, sample praparation and testing methodology for the resonant column device, bender elements, and other advanced laboratory testing.
