Research title: Mangrove sediment carbon budgets along eroding and prograding coasts.

Research Summary

Coastal ecosystems provide valuable ecosystem services. My research is looking at the contribution of coastal vegetated ecosystems to climate change mitigation strategies, through their ability to sequester carbon.

Factors influencing the carbon dynamic and sequestration potential will be investigated for saltmarshes in the UK, and as part of the Living Deltas Hub, in mangrove forests in South Asia.
