Research title: Metal Oxide and NASICON Ionic Composites for Next-Generation Solid-State Batteries

Research summary

I am a PhD student at the University of Glasgow, working on a funded EPSRC project. I hold an MS in Applied Physics from GIKI, with a specialisation in nanomaterials, electrochemistry, and advanced energy storage and conversion devices. My research focuses on synthesising, characterising, and electrochemically evaluating 2D materials (MXenes, borophene, heterostructures) and nanostructured composites for high-performance batteries, supercapacitors, photovoltaics, and catalytic applications.

I have hands-on expertise in multiple material synthesis routes (hydrothermal, sol-gel, and freeze-drying) and advanced characterisation techniques (Raman, SEM/FESEM, TEM, and electrochemical workstations). My research contributions include 17 SCI publications with over 1,000+ citations (h-index 12), established through strong collaborations with the Sunway Centre for Electrochemical Energy and Sustainable Technology. Alongside research, I have substantial experience as a graduate assistant and visiting lecturer in core physics courses. My long-term vision is to engineer durable, scalable 2D materials for next-generation sustainable energy technologies.

Teaching

As a passionate physicist, lecturer, and researcher with over 7+ years of academic and laboratory experience, I have dedicated my career to advancing physics education and frontier materials research. My journey began at GIK Institute (2018-2020) as a graduate assistant, where I investigated nanomaterials for supercapacitors while managing laboratory courses and exam administration. Building on this foundation, I joined the University of Okara (2020-2021) as a visiting lecturer, successfully delivering 17 credit hours of advanced undergraduate courses, including Solid State and Modern Physics. My research career expanded globally during my tenure as a visiting researcher at Sunway University, Malaysia (2021-2024), where I focused on cutting-edge 2D materials like MXenes for energy storage and photovoltaics, leading to multiple co-authored publications. Most recently, at NED UET, Pakistan (2023-2025), I taught Applied Physics and supervised key laboratory operations, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experimentation.
