Research title: Computational localisation microscopy in three dimensions

Research Summary

My research focuses on 3D super-resolution microscopy, specifically on the use of Point-Spread-Function (PSF) Engineering to improve the depth of field (DOF) and precision of conventional fluorescence microscopes. My work involves both the computational/theoretical modelling of PSFs, and the experimental implementation of these techniques, focusing on Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy (STORM). These techniques allow for fluorescence images to be taken in 3D, across extended DOFs, with resolution below the diffraction limit.
