Research title: Carbon Burial in Arctic Marine Sediments: Responses to a Changing World
Research Summary
My research investigates carbon burial in Arctic marine sediments under a changing climate. I focus particularly on fjords, which are globally important hotspots for carbon storage. By combining molecular techniques, isotope analyses, and modelling, I aim to explore the mechanisms that drive carbon burial and remineralisation. This work will help us assess the future capacity of fjords to function as effective carbon sinks in a rapidly changing Arctic.
