University of Glasgow aims to improve health and wellbeing of staff and students by organising a Bike2Work day

On Friday 17 June 2005 the University of Glasgow will be holding a Bike2Work day. This event is aimed at encouraging more people to use their bikes to go to and from work more often. This can improve health and fitness and save money.

The University aims for a reduction of car travel to and from its premises in order to improve health and well-being of staff and students, the quality of life and the environment.

Everyone coming in by bike on this day can pick up a voucher for a free breakfast in the College Club. The vouchers for the breakfast can be picked up at the Barriers Control House (next to Main Gate House) - take your bike with you! The breakfast will be available from 8 - 11 am. Bikelove, the bike shop at 140 Queen Margaret Drive, sponsors the breakfast.

Also there will be a chance to pick up information about cycling in and around Glasgow as well as bike security. Every participant can enter a free prize draw organised by Bike Week.

So if you have a bike, get on your bike !
