New Fellows of the Royal Society of Edinburgh announced

On Monday 3 March twelve members of the University of Glasgow were elected Fellows of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

On Monday 3 March eleven members of the University of Glasgow were elected Fellows of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

Drawn from diverse fields ranging from music to cardiovascular research, computing sciences to history, the individuals elected represent the wealth of scholarship across the University.

Professor Mike Blatt, Regius Professor of Botany, and Head of Plant Sciences

Professor John Butt, Gardiner Professor of Music; Head of Department of Music

Professor Muffy Calder, Professor of Formal Methods, Computing Science

Professor Anna Dominiczak, British Heart Foundation Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine; Director, British Heart Foundation Glasgow Cardiovascular Research Centre

Professor Margaret Frame, IBLS, senior scientist, Beatson Institute for Cancer Research

Professor Anton Muscatelli, Daniel Jack Professor of Political Economy, and Dean of the Faculty of Social Science

Professor Edwin Morgan, Emeritus Professor of English; Hon Professor, University College of Wales; Poet Laureate of Glasgow.

Professor Chris Packard, Honorary Professor of Pathological Biochemistry; Consultant Clinical Scientist; Research & Development Director, Glasgow Royal Infirmary

Professor Pamela Robertson, Professor of Mackintosh Studies, Senior Curator, Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery

Professor Hew Strachan Chichele Professor of the History of War, University of Oxford; Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford; Visiting Professor, Department of Modern History

Frances Cairncross, Management Editor, The Economist; John McCormick, Controller of BBC Scotland, and Tom McKillop, Chief Executive of AstraZeneca, who were also elected as Fellows, are Honorary graduates of the University.
