Pride Month takes place in June to remember the Stonewall Riots that took place in June 1969, and to celebrate LGBT+ people around the world.

The Stonewall Riots followed the raid of the Stonewall Inn by Police in New York and marked the beginning of a decades-long movement in the US and around the world demanding better treatment and rights for LGBT+ people.

Pride is a chance for allies and members of the LGBT+ community to come together and promote equality, diversity and progress - while still acknowledging that there’s still work to be done by everyone to ensure that people are accepted and respected.

Pride at the University of Glasgow is no different. We celebrate with our LGBT+ students and colleagues across all campuses, remembering that the University plays a key role in making sure all of our students feel safe, accepted and respected.

Find out more about how you can get involved and learn more about Pride Month at UofG on our Pride Month page.
