As the academic year has commenced, we know that students continue to face challenges looking to secure long-term accommodation in Glasgow. We appreciate the enormous difficulties and stress this has caused.

We want to reassure you that we are here to support you, and colleagues across UofG continue to work together to find solutions to the challenges caused by the citywide accommodation shortage.

If you are in Glasgow and require emergency accommodation, please visit our Fraser Building (Level 2) or call 0141 330 7157 between the hours of 9 am-4 pm Monday to Friday so we can provide direct support and immediate help.

If you need emergency accommodation outside these hours, please speak to our campus security team at our Gate House or call 0141 330 6887.

Guidance is also available from the Students' Representative Council (SRC) Advice Centre 11:30 am-4 pm Monday to Friday.

We have also increased our hardship funds for both home and international students who need access to them; you can apply for support.

Our priority is the safety, health and wellbeing of our student community. In preparation for 2022/23, we secured 900 additional beds in student accommodation and we are continuing to look at ways that we can support you at this time; for example, through securing more accommodation and assisting with the rising cost of living.

We will continue to work in collaboration with the SRC, putting in place other practical measures to support students in need going forward, as well as securing significant additional accommodation for 2023.

If you need any support, please reach out using the contacts above or we also have a range of support services available.
