Accommodation and Travel Update

As the start of the new academic year has begun, we wanted to provide some important information for those who are still making plans to travel to campus.

If you have yet to make your accommodation arrangements, we would strongly advise that you do not travel to Glasgow until you have booked your accommodation. Our University accommodation is now full, and the city has limited private availability for the first semester.

We understand the impact this may have on your study arrangements, and we will be as flexible as possible in supporting online study where arrival is delayed or prevented for travel, accommodation or health related issues.

If you are studying online and aren’t able to travel until the next semester as a result of having no accommodation (or other travel restrictions), you need to be enrolled onto your courses, and you will need to confirm with your relevant school or programme team  for all of your Semester 1 courses that you can study online for some or all of Semester 1. This is unlikely to be possible for courses which require practical classes on-campus and may not be an option on all 1st year programmes. Therefore, it is important that you confirm those arrangements as a matter of priority.

We hope to be in a position to offer a limited amount of University of Glasgow accommodation later this year and in January. We will communicate details of any availability as soon as possible. However, you can also refer to the SRC Flathunting Guide  to investigate a range of private accommodation options available from January across the city.

For further guidance and information, please visit the SRC Accommodation Advice Pages  or International Student Support.

We will continue to update you with the latest information on our new student webpages.
