Experiences Abroad Transcript Application 25/26
Are you planning on going abroad over the Summer to gain some new experiences? Thinking about doing an internship or a summer school? Considering volunteering? Or conducting some research and fieldwork abroad?
If you are an Undergraduate planning to go abroad over the summer or have already engaged with an international experience within the 25/26 academic year, then you may be eligible to have your opportunity abroad added to your HEAR transcript.
To add your international opportunity as a Non-Credit Bearing addition to your transcript, submit your opportunity before the 30th of April 2026 in the form below for review!

Why should you add your international experience to your transcript?
Adding your international opportunity to your transcript has many benefits that will assist in showcasing your employability to future applications, both for jobs and furthering your academic journey. Having your international opportunity on the Glasgow HEAR transcript:
- Provides a space in addition to your CV to showcase your successes abroad.
- Verifies your opportunity to prospective employers when applying for future employment.
- Shows your commitment to engaging with extracurricular activities alongside your studies.
- Enhances your transcript by highlighting that you are a world changing University of Glasgow student.
- Allows students from COSS, COAH and COSE students, adding more international opportunities to your transcript will increase your chances of successfully applying for and receiving the GlasGOw Global Award. Eligibility
Eligible Applications
- All Undergraduate students may apply.
- Final Year Undergraduate students are eligible to apply but their mobility must commence prior to their graduation date.
- The Mobility must have taken place outside of the UK.
- The mobility must take place within the 25/26 academic year.
- Minimum duration of 5 days (can include travel)
- The mobility you have undertaken has not been supported by Turing Funding, the Go Abroad for Summer Scholarship or the Global Student Mobility Fund (Please contact the STM team at short-term-mobility@glasgow.ac.uk if you have any questions)
- Must have educational or employable value. Further guidance on this can be found under Application Guidance.
Ineligible Applications
- PGT and PGR applications
- Applications with an insufficient number of documents.
- Mobilities under 5 days.
- Conference based activity.
- Semester to year long exchanges administered by the Go Abroad team.
- SMLC Third term Traineeships.
- CIVIS mobilities such as BIPS programmes, mobility weeks and virtual courses.
- The U21 Global Citizenship Award and U21 Micro Internships.
- School led projects (Please review your HEAR Transcript to confirm this, or contact the project lead)
Application Guidance
To increase the chances of a successful result from your application, please follow the guidance provided on what should be included in your application. This guidance is specifically related to Document Submission and writing your personal statement supporting the application.
Document submission
Any supporting documentation submitted to the application should contain:
- Proof of Payment
- Confirmation of registration
- Letter of recommendation
- Offer Holder letter
- Programme Syllabus
- Written reference under company letterhead verifying the student’s role in the opportunity.
Supporting Documentation should include the programme title, reference to the student being enrolled, staff emails, organisation logos, company letterheads, and website details which can be traced to verify the opportunity. A robust number of supporting documents will also help the STM team to verify the opportunity.
Personal Statement
The personal statement should be focused on further justifying the relevance of the opportunity and why it should be allowed on the transcript. The statement must have educational and employable value attached to it that justifies its presence on the transcript. Students should consider whether the opportunity:
- Shows connections and relevance to their degree.
- Provides information on the tasks involved with the mobility.
- Discusses the skills that they will learn or develop on the mobility
- Aligns with the outcomes of the graduate attributes' matrix.
- Provides any additional information about the provider which may help to verify the opportunity.
Focusing on any of these points will increase the likelihood of your international opportunity being added to your transcript.
